A production company built around busy teams

7 Hills Productions is a video production company headquartered in Irvine, California. Merve Tekin founded it in 2018, and we plan, film, edit and deliver business video entirely in house for healthcare systems, universities, and consumer and technology brands. One team owns the work from the first call to the final file, which is how the quality holds from a single interview to a multi-day campaign.

Orange County, Los Angeles and San Diego are our home bases. We film across California and on location throughout the United States.

Our reel

Two minutes of what we actually make

Brand films, testimonials, commercials, events and healthcare stories, cut from work delivered for clients across California and the United States.

Who we work with

Health systems, universities and global brands

Most of our work sits in three places: healthcare and biotech, higher education, and consumer and technology brands that need a lot of video from a small number of shoot days. Some of it comes to us directly, some through agencies and internal marketing teams.

Who runs it

Merve Tekin, Founder and Executive Producer

Merve founded 7 Hills Productions in Irvine in 2018 and still executive produces the work. She takes the discovery call herself, shapes the story before anything is scheduled, and stays with the project through final delivery. That is why clients tend to describe working with us in terms of responsiveness and calm rather than process.

Under her direction the company built its deepest work in healthcare and higher education, including more than 200 videos for Kaiser Permanente and long-running relationships with University of California campuses and California State University. She works out of both the Irvine office and the Los Angeles studio.

The team is deliberately small at the core, with a vetted bench of directors of photography, editors, animators, scriptwriters and local videographers brought in by project. That is how a two-person interview day and a multi-location brand campaign can both be crewed properly without an agency-sized overhead you would end up paying for.

“7 Hills Productions went above and beyond in terms of the quality of the work, their professionalism, responsiveness, and timeliness. They were able to capture our vision in a short period of time.”

What we make

One partner for every business video

Thirteen services, planned, produced and delivered in house rather than subcontracted out. Most clients start with one and come back for the next.

How a project runs

Three stages, nine steps, no hand-holding

Every project follows the same framework whether it is one testimonial or a multi-day campaign. Most corporate and testimonial projects take three to four weeks from kickoff to final video.

Pre-production · steps 1 to 5
Discovery and strategy, a written proposal with an itemized budget, creative kickoff, scripts and storyboards, then locations, casting and scheduling.
Production · step 6
A half day or one 10-hour day on location with our crew, cinema cameras, lighting and sound, run with a quiet footprint that respects a working office or clinical space.
Post-production · steps 7 to 9
Edit, motion graphics, color grading and sound design, timestamped review in Frame.io with three revision rounds, then delivery of every format.

Where we go deepest

Healthcare video, done the way hospitals need it

Healthcare is our strongest vertical and the one where the craft differences actually matter. More than 200 videos for Kaiser Permanente, plus provider profiles, patient stories, recruitment films and training content for medical groups, biotech and device companies.

“I found them to be very reasonably priced in comparison to the other production companies. I would not hesitate at all to work with them for another project after the quality of the work we received.”

“Merve was able to pull all of the information together and create something that we’ve never had before.”

Questions people ask before getting in touch

About 7 Hills Productions FAQ

What types of videos do you produce?

Thirteen in all: brand films, corporate videos, testimonial and case study videos, video ads and commercials, healthcare videos, education and training videos, event and trade show videos, product videos, explainer videos, video podcasts, recruitment videos, animated videos and photography. Everything is planned, filmed, edited and delivered in house by one team rather than subcontracted out.

Who do you usually work with?

Health systems and medical groups, universities and schools, and consumer, finance and technology brands. Kaiser Permanente, Porsche, Google, Databricks, Abbott, Fisher & Paykel Healthcare, Acorns, Dior, Northwestern University and the California State University system are among the organizations whose video we have produced, directly or through their agencies.

How much does a typical video project cost?

A 1 to 2 minute corporate or testimonial video usually lands between $6,000 and $15,000, and brand films and commercials run higher. Every estimate is custom and itemized into four lines, pre-production, the production day, editing and add-ons, confirmed before crew is booked. Full ranges by video type are on the pricing page, and the budget estimator will build a figure from your own inputs.

How long does it take to complete a video?

Most corporate and testimonial projects take three to four weeks from kickoff to final delivery. Filming is a half day or one 10 hour production day, the first cut arrives 15 to 20 days after filming, and three rounds of revisions are included. Brand films, commercials and multi location campaigns take six to eight weeks. Expedited timelines are available for launches and events.

What cities and industries do you serve?

We are based in Irvine with a studio in Downtown Los Angeles, and travel within Orange County, Los Angeles and San Diego is included. We film across California and nationwide, with location pages for San Francisco, San Jose, Las Vegas, Austin, New York and Miami. Industries include healthcare and biotech, higher education, finance and fintech, technology and software, manufacturing, beauty and fashion, hospitality and professional services.

Do you help with creative planning, and can I be involved in the process?

Creative planning is where the project is won. We run the discovery call, write the script, the interview questions and the storyboards, then handle locations, casting and scheduling. You stay involved exactly as much as you want: approve the proposal, sit in the creative kickoff, come to the shoot, and leave timestamped notes on the cut in Frame.io.

Do you offer packages for ongoing video content?

Yes, and it is the cheapest way to build a library. A production day is planned to capture several pieces of content at once, and editing is priced per finished video, so filming four testimonials in one day means one day of crew plus four edits rather than four separate shoots. Retainer-style ongoing programs are quoted the same transparent way.
