Gourmet Trading brand film case study

Gourmet Trading: from field to brand film

Brand and promotional work in the fields and packing houses of one of the largest produce companies in the country.

Selected films

Gourmet Trading brand film, interview cut

The interview-led cut. Growers and staff explain the operation in their own words, over footage from the fields and the packing house.

Gourmet Trading brand film, music cut

The music-led cut of the same material. Shorter, no dialogue, framed and paced for social feeds.

The brief

Produce is a category that photographs beautifully and is very hard to film honestly. Everybody has seen the version with the slow-motion water droplet. The harder and better film is the one that shows the actual scale of the operation: the fields, the picking, the packing house, the logistics of getting something perishable across a country.

The constraint on agricultural work is the calendar. A blueberry harvest does not move because a crew is unavailable. The shoot window is set by the crop, which means planning months ahead and being ready to travel on short notice when the field is right.

Filming in a working packing facility brings its own rules: food safety protocols, hygiene requirements and areas where equipment simply cannot go. All of that is agreed before the day rather than settled on the day.

The work covers the blueberry programme and other crops, delivered as a main brand film plus shorter cuts for trade and social use.

How this work gets made

Shoot when the crop says

Harvest windows are short and fixed. The production schedule is built around the field, not the other way round.

Facility protocols first

Food safety and hygiene requirements agreed before the shoot, so the shoot day is about filming.

Scale on camera

Aerials, long lenses and facility coverage that show how big the operation actually is.

One shoot, several cuts

A brand film plus short trade and social versions from the same days in the field.

Questions about this work

Can you film in the field and in a processing facility?

Yes. Both are part of this work, and both need their own planning around access, safety and timing.

Do you shoot aerials?

Yes, where the location and airspace allow it. On agricultural work it is often the only way to show the scale.

How far ahead do we need to book?

For seasonal work, as early as possible. The harvest window is the one date that cannot move.

What does a brand film cost?

Brand story films start from $9,000. There is a breakdown on the pricing page.
