The brief
Test preparation is bought by anxious people at a high price under time pressure. No amount of claimed pass rates moves that decision. What moves it is a student who was in exactly the same position eighteen months ago explaining what happened.
The interviews are structured around the before rather than the after. Where they were starting from, what was not working, what changed. A student who opens with how great the course is has skipped the part that makes anyone believe them.
Filming students has its own constraints. They are busy, spread out, often nervous on camera, and the useful ones are usually mid-cycle rather than conveniently available. Scheduling is most of the job.
The output is cut both as individual stories and as a compiled promotional piece, because the individual films persuade and the compilation travels.

Where travel is not practical, yes, with a controlled remote set-up. In person is better where the schedule allows it.
