The brief

Selling the company you built is one of the biggest financial and emotional decisions a person makes. A firm that handles those sales cannot advertise its way into trust. The only thing that works is other founders, on camera, describing what it was actually like.

So the work here is a series rather than a film. One founder interview that explains what the firm believes, then a run of client testimonials that back it up from the other side of the table.

The craft in a testimonial like this is almost entirely in the interview. Business owners arrive with a polished version of their story, because they have told it at conferences. The useful material comes after that, when they describe the part that was difficult. That takes time in the chair and an interviewer willing to sit through the rehearsed answer first.

Shooting them as a series rather than individually is what makes the set work. One lighting approach, one framing, one edit grammar, so four separate people read as one body of evidence rather than four unrelated videos.

How this work gets made

A series, not four videos

One look across every interview, so the set reads as a body of evidence rather than a collection.

Time in the chair

The rehearsed version comes first. The honest version comes later, and only if the schedule allows for it.

No script for the subject

Questions are prepared. Answers are not. A founder reading a line is worse than no testimonial.

Cut long and short

A full testimonial for the site and short cuts for outreach and social from the same session.

Questions about this work

How many testimonials can you film in a day?

Three to four when the subjects come to one location. Travelling between them changes the arithmetic.

Will our clients agree to be filmed?

More often than people expect, particularly after a good outcome. Making it easy, short and comfortable is most of the answer.

What does a testimonial film cost?

Testimonial films start at $3,500 locally and $5,000 where we travel. More on the testimonial cost page.
