The work
Every conference session, turned into content
Intersolar & Energy Storage North America is one of the largest solar and energy storage events in the US, organized by Diversified Communications. The 2026 flagship in San Diego brought together 314 exhibiting companies and a 28-session conference program. 7 Hills Productions filmed and edited the event's video for the organizer.
Alongside the event highlights and testimonials, the organizer wanted content that outlives the show. Before the event, each speaker was given one focused question tied to their session, from data center interconnection to financing after the ITC change. We booked short slots right after their sessions and filmed each answer in a quiet concourse outside the conference rooms, with branded lower thirds added in the edit.
The result is 42 films with 16 experts, from the executive directors of CALSSA, VGIC and the Texas Advanced Energy Business Alliance to the CEOs of 127 Energy, TerraFlow Energy and Wells Energy Development, plus exhibitors and attendees we met on the floor. Because each clip answers one question, the library is organized by topic below, the way the conference tracks were.
On larger events we run several crews at once: one on the floor and stages, one on interviews and sound bites, plus photography. When content is needed while the doors are still open, we edit on site.
What an event organizer walks away with
- Sessions that keep working after the show. A one-hour panel becomes short clips you can post all year.
- Speakers who share it. Each expert gets a branded clip worth posting, which puts your event in front of their audience.
- Next year's exhibitor pitch, already shot. Testimonials about the decision-makers in the room and the deals getting done sell booths and sponsorships.
- Content organized by track. Clips map to conference topics, ready for newsletters, track pages and social calendars.

Siefken, Brad Heavner, Cesar Barbosa, Claire Broido Johnson, Helge Biernath, John McDonnell, Jon Parrella, Joseph Seymen, Lance Gloss, Mark Crowdis, Matthew Boms, Spencer Wells and Zach Woogen, covering data centers, financing, FEOC and domestic content, residential and C&I solar, state markets, long-duration storage, repowering, agrivoltaics, robotics and EVs.
What is an expert sound bite?
A short, standalone video in which one expert answers one focused question. Each runs about as long as a social post, carries a branded lower third with the speaker's name and company, and makes sense without the rest of the session.
How do you film sound bites without disrupting the conference?
We schedule a short slot for each speaker right after their session, so they come straight from the stage with the topic fresh. A compact interview setup in a quiet corridor near the session rooms keeps it to a few minutes per person.
Can you film expert interviews like these at our conference?
Yes. 7 Hills Productions films conferences and trade shows across the US. Send the dates, the venue and the speaker list, and we will plan the questions, the schedule and the crew with you.
Running a conference? Let's film it.
Send the dates, the venue and who is speaking. You get a crew plan, a price range and a delivery schedule back.
